Fiesta Time

We start out the morning with a walking tour of Sorsogon city, led by Mrs. Duran. First we drive to our starting point by tricycle (similar to a rickshaw, but motorized)

Wow, that's alot of tomatoes

The main drag

The former city hall in the background was destroyed by 2 super typhoons last year. A new one has been built to replace it.

Later, for lunch, Mrs. Duana comes to pick Ron and I up to attend to a fiesta. We enjoy a very tasty lunch and a nice visit. Little did we know that we were on to the next one, where they wanted to serve us an entire meal again. No one told us to save room for more, so we politely declined the food and just visited.

At the 2nd fiesta we attended

Afterwards, spending the afternoon relaxing at Bacon Beach Resort and Dive Center.

This is where we are introduced to the idea of 'merienda'. Snack time is very important in Filipino life. One of the hotel owners commented that her employees won't work if they don't get their merienda.
